Effects Of Abnormal Pronation On The Body
Aggressive pronation has been shown to contribute to the following conditions:
• plantar fascitis
• patellofemoral knee pain
• bunions and big toe pain
• pelvic malalignment
• low back strain
• SI joint and piriformis muscle strain
• IT band friction problems
• shin splints/medial tibial stress
• achilles and posterior tibialis tendonitis
Deceleration of pronation through the use
of flexible BONZ shoe inserts can greatly reduce the stress on all of these conditions.

Pronation: The Myth

pronate foot 180x150

Pronation, or arch collapse, is a highly complex
and poorly understood foot issue. There are
many misconceptions about pronation and it is
ofter cited as the cause of a host of common
foot problems. The fact is that, while pronation
can cause excessive stress to certain tissues in
the leg, foot, and lower back, PRONATION IS A
NORMAL FOOT MOVEMENT!

The foot is designed to pronate. It is a natural shock-absorbing mechanism and it serves
to unlock the joints of the foot to allow for flexibility while weight-bearing. The real issue
with pronation is not how much the arch collapses, but how rapidly it happens. Aggressive
pronation is most often the source of tissue damage, even if the arch collapse is not
excessive. Therefore, an effective shoe insert should be made of a flexible material and
designed to decelerate pronation, rather than to stop it.
